In 2024, there were 517 crashes in which an emergency vehicle was struck while they were responding to a crash; four of these resulted in a fatality. Many Utahns are still not aware of Utah’s Move Over Law that requires drivers to move into the next lane, or as far as possible in their lane of travel, to make room for emergency responders who are helping drivers on the side of the road.
A press event, videos, and digital outdoor placement aimed to reach drivers to educate them about the law and show them how and why to move over for everyone’s safety.
