This is a full-time position that includes locations in northern and southern Utah. It requires a 24/7 on-call rotation (2-3 weeks on-call a month) to cover weekends, storms and holidays throughout the year.
If you’re not in the field, you’ll be coordinating with our clients and partners, handling project management tasks, and assisting on other agency projects as needed.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Field Duties:
- Coordinate and manage travel and operational communications.
- Provide real-time traveler updates, project updates, and responses from the field on social media accounts and websites.
- Execute predetermined communications protocols for emergency, closure, maintenance, traffic, weather, etc.
- Monitor all area radio frequencies, traffic cameras, and social media accounts.
Office Duties:
- Manage social media channels, including strategy, content creation, comment response, promotion of posts and ad campaigns.
- Manage traveler education programs, including distribution of materials and partner coordination.
- Plan and conduct educational workshops with stakeholders.
- Prepare for client and partners meetings, providing agendas, and status updates.
- Set annual communication goals, evaluate performance, and create an end-of-season report with improvement recommendations.
- Contribute to other agency projects, which includes coordinating, scheduling, and staffing public events, stakeholder engagement and database management, and content creation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (preferred).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours (16 hour/day and up to 80 hours/week, weather-dependent), in winter and summer conditions; some travel to southern Utah from April to September is required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent writing skills; ability to prioritize and convey critical information concisely under pressure and tight deadlines (creating and posting content on multiple platforms in less than 15 minutes).
- Proven social media content management experience (X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads).
- Strong collaborative skills; ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Operations or dispatch experience (desired but not required).
